Certified Maintenance Partner
The SKF Certified Maintenance Partner Programme
Teaming up for improved plant productivity
Turn your machine data into greater productivity
You’re always looking for ways to boost your plant’s profitability. Perhaps you have already incorporated a predictive or preventative maintenance regime into your regular machine maintenance programme. You may be doing this internally or using the services of an outside firm to take vibration readings from selected machines. But data collection alone is only a first step because the data extracted from your machinery is useless until it is interpreted and turned into an action item.
with your SKF Certified Maintenance Partner
More than just another data collection service
An SKF Certified Maintenance Partner is an SKF Authorized Distributor that has been trained to provide specialized services, including the use of the most advanced machine reliability hardware and software. Supported by the global resources of SKF, and using the latest technologies, your SKF Certified Maintenance Partner can help you look inside your machinery to find savings you never suspected were possible.
Using proprietary software and databases, data analysis experts will interpret your machine condition data – and recommend appropriate corrective actions.

Taking care to treat your data with confidentiality, your SKF Certified Maintenance Partner will provide a clear, concise report containing a summary of the readings and recommendations for all problem areas. This report allows you faster access to the information you need without getting bogged down in paperwork.
In addition, your SKF Certified Maintenance Partner has the expertise available to “design-out” recurring failures as they update your predictive and preventative maintenance programmes to

  • virtually eliminate catastrophic machine failures
  • reduce maintenance costs
  • increase plant productivity
  • reduce overall cost of operation.
The SKF Certified Maintenance Partner programme:
Your SKF Certified Maintenance Partner can link your predictive maintenance programme – including lubrication, vibration, temperature and process measurements, as well as visual inspection data – to SKF’s vast experience and knowledge of machinery optimization. Here’s a brief overview of how the programme works and how you can benefit.
Optimizing your machine assets
Preliminary Assessment
Before the programme can begin, your SKF Certified Maintenance Partner will complete a preliminary assessment of the machines your team has identified as critical to the production process. As part of the assessment, your maintenance personnel and the SKF Certified Maintenance team will identify the number and location of data points, document the type of lubricants used and collect other information that is key to the condition monitoring process. From that information, your SKF Certified Maintenance team will be able to determine costs and identify procedural issues related to the project.
Database development
Upon acceptance of the proposal, a customized database will be created that establishes machine-specific information and operating parameters. This will allow collected data to be viewed, trended and analyzed from many perspectives. Based on the information in that database, alarms and alerts will be determined and pre-programmed so that they can be downloaded into the condition monitoring equipment.
Data collection and analysis
In accordance with the contract, your SKF Certified Maintenance Partner will collect appropriate machine reliability data at predetermined intervals and condition monitoring points and upload the information to SKF. Using the latest data analysis tools and software, SKF Reliability Systems experts will interpret the data, drawing on the knowledge gained from thousands of machines worldwide.
Report and recommendations
Your SKF Certified Maintenance Partner will prepare a performance report that includes an evaluation of each machine’s current condition and pending problem areas. In most cases, your Certified Maintenance Partner will be able to offer a corrective action plan to help you achieve improved performance from your critical machinery assets.
The SKF connection
The SKF Certified Maintenance Partner programme is backed by almost 100 years of experience and a knowledge of rotating machine reliability that is unmatched in the world.
